Is anyone getting an Sample Memory Full Error message when attempting to load a libray file smaller than the amount of memory being displayed?
I am trying to load a 600MB library when Montage reports there is 969/1.8GB and is says Sample Memory Full! There should be at least 800MB available?
A "Sample memory full" error message is different from a "Waveform full" error message, which is different from a "Keybank full" error message.
Different error messages for the specific error. The Sample memory full error can occur before you reach the memory size limit.
You can have 1.75GB of data in the storage area.
That can be a maximum of 2,048 Waveforms.
A Waveform can have at maximum 256 Keybanks
A maximum of two samples per KEYBANK to accommodate stereo.
The point being each has a limit - and since the number of samples per Waveform can vary greatly, the full limits are based on 'whichever comes first'. So if you exceed the maximum number of Samples before you reach the Waveform limit, you are out of memory. If you reach any of the individual maximums before you reach the total 1.75GB you're full.
I have not seen the exact sample limit number published (but it's probably 8,192 samples). If that number is reached before you get to 1.75GB, you are out of slots to store samples, even though there is memory in the overall cache. And you get a "Sample memory full" error message.
