Song & Performance not working

I setup my Montage, upgraded to 1.11.

When I select a Song + Perf, the right performance will not load.

My working order:
1. I choose a performance, lets say its called "SYNTH"
2. I load a midifile through USB
3. I make different settings in that performance
4. I store the performance.

5. Then I choose an other performance, lets say its called "PIANO"
6. I go to "song&perf"and choose the song I made
7. If its right the song AND performance where the song is made under has to be loaded
7. In playmode I see in the screen the song is loaded but not the performance, its still in "PIANO" and not in "SYNTH"
8. When I play the sequence its wrong played becouse of the wrong performance is loaded.

Do I make a mistake somewhere?

No, it's not your fault.

Load the .mid file to the Play/Rec feature, select the correct Performance.

Now Store by overwriting the current Performance. I have been exactly where you are, and some times it does not remember the link. Let us know.

This is addressed in the next firmware update due shortly.

I tried several ways, your tip doesn't work.
Though I've figured out that there is one way that works at this moment; after loading the midifile you have to record something on the montage at on one of the trackchannels. You don't have to overwrite the performance, it saves itselfs.

So what isn't working at the montage for song&perf is that you can load à midifile without recording at the montage.

I'll hope that this wil be solved in the next update soon?
What would-be awesome is that there was à song&perf screen at the display like the live set shows. Maybe Yamaha wil listen to its custommers an users?

It is solved.
It automatically links them when the data is recorded internally - a case where streamlining the system didn't really serve all actual use cases. When you load a .mid file it doesn't (couldn't) contain the "header" information that memorized the internal location. This is why engaging record documents the current selection...it adds this header information to the catalog information. This info is automatically attached.

To include externally generated data (like a .mid created in a DAW or purchased) a routine that imprints that header is required. You touch a box that generates the necessary data. They solved it.

Thanks.

About the "Live Set" type page for Songs&Perf... That may already have a solution, I'll get back to you.

Yes, a new firmware update addresses this issue, so that data not recorded on the Montage can be easily linked with a
Performance. It is due shortly ... Back earlier this year we were told to expect some minor fixes and updates by end of summer... Early fall. Check back.

Problem is solved in latest update, Johan. Directly in the Performance play/rec screen there is "Store Song & Perf Settings" box to in the upper right of the screen and directly above that is where you see the Performance registered. When you select a Performance, record it, name it and then select the "Store Song & Perf Settings" it absolutely recalls those settings.
