Hi i recorded some patterns and created a chain.
Is there a way, in a live setting, to play an intro without the pattern/chain on and start the chain as soon as i play a certain key?
So is it possible to connect a pattern to start with a particular note. So not with all notes using the Key On Start in the Play Record screen.
And of course, can this setting be saved to use in the Live Set page without having to go to the Play Record screen from the Performance
Thanks
Marc

No, on all counts.
The Sequencer can be started using the dedicated [PLAY] button, or using a Foot Switch assigned to “Play/Stop”.
The “Key On Start” function found in the Pattern Sequencer, is designed to automatically synchronize the Notes used to trigger an Arpeggiator with the start of Record/Play. Used in conjunction with the Record “Loop” = Off, you can automate both the start and end of Arp Phrase transfer.
It is the Arpeggio that ignores the Sequencer Transport START, STOP and CONTINUE commands. It is the Arpeggiator that requires a musical trigger event in order to begin playback. That musical trigger is placed on a musical timing sub-division that causes the Arp phrase to begin. The Motion Sequencer can be linked to the Arpeggiator trigger so that note regions and velocity regions can be used to define when Motion Sequences begin. But both Arps and MSeqs ignore Transport commands...
So in other words, it is possible to define a specific Note and/or a specific Velocity that would define when the Arpeggiators (and Motion Sequences) begin.
But once the Arpeggio Phrase data has been transferred to Pattern Tracks as MIDI Events (using “Key On Start” = On and “Loop” = Off), then starting and stopping playback is the responsibility of the Transport controls.
If you leave KEY ON START = ON during a non-Record situation (like when playing back a Pattern or Chain)... any Key will suffices to start the Transport. You do not get to define which Key.
A Foot Switch set to “Play/Stop” is you best bet if pressing the dedicated button is not a possibility.
Hi Marc,
Glad there are more people who want this function. I added it to ideascale. You can give it a +1 if you want:

And here you can find the tread from a few months ago:
