Can the sustain pedal be used to trigger a note/sample on a Part in a Performance?

... and letting go of the sustain pedal will trigger the "key off" samples (XA control).

What is it you are actually trying to do? Are you wanting to use the pedal to trigger an arpeggio?

I worked on a library and ported over most of it's features besides a Tine Harp noise produced when pressing the sustain pedal.
