As a Yamaha dealer product specialist, I strongly recommend a modification to the (Octave +/-) ( Transpose +/-) buttons. Please modify the firmware/software to allow the user to configure these buttons to give Octave OR Transpose priority. The vast majority of users strongly desire to be able to do a simple Transpose with the left hand only rather than holding with the right hand AND selecting the transpose. Key changes, as is, takes away from the users performance flow because both hands need to be used to transpose. I actually lost a couple sales due to this hug inconvenience. They did ask me to let them know if this changes soon so they can come back and purchase a Montage 8 if they didn't already get something else. I look forward to seeing this change right away. Thank You so much and have a great day.

... and probably other places. I think Yamaha has received the message and comprehends what is being conveyed.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
You don’t need transpose. Stop hanging onto the past. MONTAGE represents a new paradigm. MONTAGE is a Performance synthesizer with MOTION CONTROL. Which means you don’t need to transpose, or sequence, or assign its incoming MIDI channels. Simply attach a $2000 computer and DAW and mouse and monitor to your $4000 flagship synthesizer and point and click and drop and tap and squint and configure and click you can do those basic things no problem. But what you need to understand is limitation causes creativity. MONTAGE 2 will not even have pitched notes because that is old school man. Someday you’ll get it.
@Aaron... please don't tell us what we don't need your condescending approach is not helpful.

@Simon... I thought Aaron's sarcasm was pretty obvious.
