The trumpet ensemble performance does not have a volume response to the sliders. It shows the level going up and down on the screen, but the volume doesn't change. I tried a few other brass settings, and they work fine. Thanks in advance for your help.

The short answer is that this performance uses superknob to control the volume of two parts to "morph" between part 1 and part 2.

It is because there is something else, other than the faders, controlling volume that you sense something is wrong. It isn't, this performance does somewhat defeat the fader controls because it applies a large offset to volume which is normal. Same as the "CFX + FM EP" performance - only slightly different because the "CFX + FM EP" performance has a more straight-forward destination curve for volume.

It would be nice for the non-deep-divers to have a preset guide that has the ins and outs of the PERFORMANCE including what all the knobs do and how different modes affect the control of the PERFORMANCE (preset).

If you "dig in", you'll notice that the top-level "Common Assign" knobs (the ones direct under super knob control): assignable knob #1 and #2 control the volumes of PART 1 and PART 2 respectively.

The routing is as follows:

"Common Assign" knob 1 --> Connects to Part 1 Assignable Knob 8 --> AsgnKnob 8 --> Destination = Volume
Note: the destination curve shows there is area where the volume will be offset to LESS than the part default volume (subtract) - one point where it is equal (the "cross-over point") - and a large area where the volume will be MORE than the part default volume. This is how bipolar works with a non-zero ratio. Some part of the curve will add and some will subtract.
Note2: If you do not want this volume control - and want to use sliders instead, delete the volume destination.

"Common Assign" knob 2 --> Connects to Part 2 Assignable Knob 8 --> AsgnKnob 8 --> Destination = Volume
See notes above.

Thanks, but it doesn't seem to work. Are there any other steps I should take? Thanks for your help!

If what you've done so far is delete the COMMON assignable knob destinations, then I can see how this would be incomplete.

The COMMON knobs connect to the Part 1 and Part 2 assignable knobs. If, when you deleted the COMMON assigns, either PART1 or PART2 assignable knob was not in the "0" (no offset) position for the curve output (which is around I'd say the 8'oclock position) - then the PART level assignable knobs are still ruling the volume.

You could have started there - at the parts. So, edit each parts and (for each part under edit):

1) Touchscreen (TS): menu "Mod / Control" -> "Control Assign"
2) TS: Make sure the "Auto Select" box (upper left) is highlighted green (on)
3) Spin the 8th assignable knob - this will change the (TS) "Display Filter" to AssgnKnob 8
4) TS: Press "Delete" (Delete the volume destination )

After doing this twice (once for each PART), your faders will control either the trumpet ensemble (part 1) or brass (part 2) sound. They're all trumpets.
