they say full compatiblty but its not compatible!
i want
es grand piano, power grand piano jazz grand from ultimate piano exp for xf moxf
and
saxophone and trumpet and scatjazz voice from inspiration in a flesh
yamaha write compatible in full in the download of xf performance! look at the screenshot i attach:
It's not easy to find - but at least Yamaha has gone on record to clear up the limitations and caveats of what "full compatibility" and "without a hitch" means. This means except 8-bit, except LPC formats, and except WXC formats. Yamaha is aware of the long-standing wish for certain legacy sound libraries to be importable (and properly converted) to Montage.
By "fully" - they mean that before you could only half-way have a possibility to convert data (voice only). Now you have a chance to convert all data (performance and voice). Yes, the converter chokes on some data (and this is unfortunate) - but the communication on "full compatibility" is as accurate as any other marketing campaign - like "real cheese (tm)" or USB "full speed".
"Without a hitch" was a bit of an overstep considering the clear boundaries the converter has. Yamaha didn't let too many days go before clearing this up on the forum. However, the forum isn't "easy" to find for all users and hopefully the limitations will receive bold red letters in updated readme files, new feature documentation, and other marketing messaging (website support page, etc).

except and except and except and except and except and
except.
well this is lazy
I'm not thrilled either - but the point is about transparency (or lack of) not about the feature itself. In this case, I believe Yamaha has made efforts to be fully transparent about what is supported and what is not.
The technical merits of the converter and what users want is different from characterizing information as a lie, misleading, or oversight.

Why are you lot seeking a Motif in a Montage.
Is it so hard to recreate some of you're best work
within Montage with the better it has.
well you say compatibility? yes!! my most importatnt sound on xf is powergrand and jazzscat and also sweet sax... its really very very lazy... maybe yamaha gives only very small team for montage... and can make development in babysteps. when you cant do something on montage they tell you how much its different and yaza yada yada... but after 2 years you see what they can.. and just dont want.. i also see here other request the sounds.. so its not only just me..
It's a conspiracy! 😉
That's why I kept my Motif XF at home...:D
We have full VOICE and PERFORMANCE compatibility with MOTIFXF/XS and MOXF content.
Both the "Inspiration in a Flash" and "Ultimate Piano" free promotional packs were taken from collections that existed before, converted and re-released for the MOTIF XS/XF and MOXF. With the development of MONTAGE, older technologies were replaced with newer ones. Because of this change some of that older sample and waveform content is not compatible with MONTAGE.
The content you are referring to was culled from previous products and altered for use with the older system in MOTIFXF/XS and MOXF but NOT specifically designed for those products (For example, Power Grand came from the original MOTIF content from over 15 years ago). This is something that the development team is aware of we will update if and when it becomes available. We had a similar issue with the free Chick's Mark V collection. That data was initially not compatible with MONTAGE but was converted and re-released.
Apologies for the confusion.
Blake, those are great news. It will be a great addition to the MONTAGE arsenal, some real great selection of timeless sounds there. Looking forward to it!
thanx to all.. sooo... when do you think we get the sounds in way to load?
Thanks, Blake, and Yamaha.
NOW....when can we get my MX49 sounds into the Montage?
JUST KIDDING!!! that was a joke.
....but I still love that little 8 pound wonder-synth. (3.6kg.)
Hi Blake - any news? where can we get the sounds?
Thanks!

I spoke with Blake, he’s waiting to hear ....
