With any of the Yamaha DSR you can reproduce the full range of the Montage synthesizer. And with 1300 Watts (SPLs up to 134dB and 136dB, respectively), each... cool running, clean high definition sonic power, you cannot go wrong.

Ok thanks bad mister for your reply I have listened to the DSR112 when I sneaked into the back of the room when someone was having a demo and was definitely sold by the Dsr's as nothing with in the large display of other PA system on demo that the DSR112 where with came close too them, but the DSR115 where not there to compare + there is not much online to read from a keyboard perspective other than DJ forums talking about the DSR line, so I think a trip to your London main store will be inhand now where I can compare both 112 and 115 and take it from there, just interested to know if any one here had them in there rig, so im sure one way or another I'll have a pair pending a demo and comparison ...thanks

So I am a proud owner of a montage 7 and a pair of DSR115s - they are hands down the best speakers i have used in my time as a DJ.. And the fact that Yamaha bought out or took over NEXO was my decision for that - NEXO made incredible speakers so when i heard some of the DSR range had NEXO based tech in them that was the hook for me. I have not actually played my Montage through my DSRs as i use it in a studio setting with Genelec monitors and a sub but i would imagine the montage would sound incredible! If you are on the shelf about the DSR115 / 118 you need to take them for a spin at your local Music shop... you wont be disappointed.

Oh and the DSR112s I believe do not have the NEXO tech in them... or maybe i am mistaken but i know its only the more professional Yamaha speakers that do.. If so then if you hear the 115s you will understand.

Good to here Gary thanks for responding, I'm also in my studio most of the time running Se Munro Egg 150 etc and im leaning towards the DSR 115 on paper so as soon as I can get to here them hopefully they will do the trick, we get so a custom with are studio sound that I find many PA system out side the studio underwhelming when im out live with other peoples rig's, the DSR112 which I have listened to made me rethink what can be done around this price point and im not just saying this because I'm on a yamaha forum but keyboards in general can be hard to make sound good on many live systems out there so looking fwd to trying my Montage + companion keys with some DSR's, it's interesting just how good sonically and from a sound dynamic point of view the Montage is in my studio compared to other keyboards past and present so all being well sounds like the DSR's will complement here ...

I realize that this is not exactly what you asked, but I'll share anyway. A couple months ago I moved up from a junk acoustic amp as my practice monitor at home to a DXR15. I was torn between the DXR and DSR. I ultimately settled on the DXR for 2 reasons. The first was because of the "mixer" capabilities on the back. I like being able to plug a mic and my board straight into the back. The second reason was the deal I got. I got an open box in new condition for $465, that was a no-brainer.

I would do that deal again in a heartbeat. However, having the DXR15 and hearing my Montage through it, there's no way I would pay regular price for the DXR. I also ran the DXR through my pa with my worship band. I was trying it out as possibly upgrading my current Yamaha tops. I was not impressed. The cabinet vibrated quite a bit, because it's made out of plastic I guess. I ultimately decided against that as replacements.

I love it as my monitor, and again, I would do that deal again without thinking twice, but if I were paying full price, I would have went with the DSR. Oh yeah, the third factor was weight. I didn't want another speaker that weighed more than my Montage.

I guess that the DSR answers the sound quality issues that I have with the DXR. But you pay a little more, in price, weight, and minus a "mixer".

I know this isn't what you asked, but I thought this may be helpful for someone else on the fence.

Thanks Brandon all input welcome, The DSR's are my hot favourite at the moment I have only listened to the DSR112 but the DXR in the same sitting did not appeal to me when up against the DSR's i would consider the smaller range of yamaha PA (dxr or dbr) as a pair of floor monitors, but always interested to here what others are using in a live rig with Montage while considering getting the best possible sound with powered PA speaker (with out breaking the bank) of course what we run between montage and the PA can influence the finale results so I'm considering Alan & Heath Zed mixer which I am using in my studio (Zed 420) so probably use again (zed) but smaller in a new PA system but I'm open to others experience and recommendations...
