In Utility -> Settings -> Advanced, there's a Zone Master setting that can either be Off or On. Is this individual per Performance, or is it a global setting that affects all Performances? If it's global, why would I ever want to have it turned Off?

When you are not using the Montage as the center of a multi keyboard rig you would leave this Master switch for Zone Master set to OFF.
If set to OFF in Utility, then Master settings will not be added to your file size when you create a file. Montage is streamlined.
If you wish to setup your Montage as your Master Keyboard controller in a multiple keyboard rig you must activate this Master "Zone Master" ON, for the parameters for ZONES and ZONE SETTINGS to even appear in each of the hundreds of Performances. In Motif you had 128 fixed Master programs whether you used them or not. Here you can have a Master Zone setup in each Performance, if that is required.
The situation of the Motif XF owner who upgrades to a Montage can be summarized in two principles:
- The Montage is similar enough to the Motif XF that you think you know what you're doing.
- The Montage is different enough from the Motif XF that you're wrong.
