As we know, at present, much of the product Steinberg does not support Windows 10 (Cubase, Nuendo, hardware devices). One reason for the incompatibility of the drivers called for YamahaSteinberg line hardware devices Yamaha and Steinberg. I would like to know about the possibility of further support and planned timing of troubleshooting. Sincerely, Dmitry.
If you have just purchased a computer that uses Windows 10, please enjoy that computer without using professional music software... We are currently in the time frame where your computer is out of sync with music software/hardware. If you already own a Windows computer you should know better than to be the first one on your block to update your OS.
If you rushed ahead and updated, you are now in that time frame where you are going to find your professional music software/hardware are going to be out of sync with running a thoroughly tested version. This is an old story - that doesn't change. As soon as testing is complete, then and only then will compatibilities be announced or updates issued, not before.
If music (and musicians) were a priority for computer operating system designers they would be sure this time of transition would be eliminated or at least reduced. Sadly, music (and musicians) to the greater society are NOT a priority (obviously) - we are a small niche market, not worthy of their priority consideration.
So our recommendation, Windows 10 ... Wait. If you're mid-project, definitely wait. Question: is there some feature that Windows 10 has that is so compelling you need to jeopardize you current music projects? If not, stick with your current OS.
How about things from Yamaha like the XF Editor, USB driver, etc. Do those need to be updated? If so, is that currently in process?
Does anyone know when XF/Cubase is going to be compatible with Windows 10? I'm hoping it will be before the end of the time when I can upgrade my PCs to Windows 10 for free.
