Just installed my FW16 and testing with Garageband. Playing all sounds. Work greast. However does anyone know if you can "echo" Thru MIDI from Garageband? I have another Keyboard connected to the Motif MIDI Out that no longer sounds since MIDI is now FW.

The capabilities of GarageBand ? Not sure what version of it you are using and for best support on this program you should contact it's creator.
We certainly cannot answer for its capabilities here.
When using MIDI IN/OUT = FW the 5-pin MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jacks of the Motif XF are not use by the XF itself. This fact allows the XF to act as a MIDI interface for an external device. It allows you to connect an external MIDI device to your computer. The YSFW driver has a port for the XF's data ("Main"), a port for Remote Control of leading Pro software ("Remote"), and an additional port for one external device ("Midi In/Out"). Information from that external devices passes thru to the computer, and items routed from the computer on this port arrive at the 5-pin MIDI OUT jack.
That is true, but whether or not your selected software (GarageBand) allows for this is a function of that software. You can set this up easily in a pro DAW software like Cubase, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Sonar, Pro Tools, etc.
