How to load or transfer MOXF6 patterns to XF6?

I'm curious how people are transferring their MOXF6 built patterns to the XF6. Note that I am talking patterns here and not songs. I know with songs you can go the SMF route, but it's the patterns that are not in songs that I wish to transfer. It seems the MOXF and XF are not as compatible as the with the voices and waveforms.

Perhaps I should compose patterns on the XF and move them to the MOXF? Not sure if that will work either since the extensions are different, but I'll try that too.

Don't want to be creating patterns twice on the XF and MOXF.

Thanks!

Wow! Very interesting.

By default, my Cubase 8.5 exports data to .midi files. Notice the .midi file extension. The Yamaha MOXF6 will import this file without issue. However, the Yamaha Motif XF6 will not even see this file. I now have to go back and change all the extensions to .MID in order for the XF6 to view and import.

Also, I noticed that the MOXF6 can view the .MID files. So I'll have to ensure that all midi files saved from Cubase are in .MID format and not .midi.

I basically use Cubase to create patterns and can import them both into the MOXF6 and XF6. That might be better since the MOXF and XF are incompatible pattern wise.

After some testing, it appears I can only transfer one pattern section at a time via SMF only. The MOXF and XF are not compatible with the ALL Pattern format.

You seem to be working this out on your own.

What I would do is make a PATTERN CHAIN. One that simply played each Section once. ABCDEFG etc. making sure each plays its full length just once.
Convert this to a SONG
save as a .mid file

Move the file to the other keyboard as .mid
Use the SONG JOB: "Split Song to Pattern" to divide it back into Pattern Sections.

It saves having a dozen .mid files to assemble.
