Save As VST Preset Seems Not To Work

I've been following the instructions in this YamahaSynth article, ADDING VOICE LIBRARIES TO CUBASE AS VST PRESETS.

I got to the place where it tells you to right-click on a voice:

At this point you could RIGHT CLICK on that VOICE and select "Save VST Preset" - which would write this one VOICE to the Sound Browser. That is how you can select a single Voice; ...

When I do this, nothing seems to get saved. There is also no error message. I have no clue why this isn't working.

Where is the VST Preset supposed to be stored?

Any help with this will be gratefully appreciated…

Did you REFRESH the folder? If nothing appears to happen, follow the instructions in the article you referenced on how to have your computer rescan the folders ... This will refresh the Sound Browser and show your new additions.

From the article...........................

In order for them to show up in the Librarian we will need to REFRESH it by rescaning the Folder for the newly added data.

Again: You do so by unchecking the Motif XF VST folder in the Browser & Filter area (if you do not see the folder make sure that the "SHOW LOCATION" radio button is pressed).
You will be asked if you want to KEEP, REMOVE or CANCEL... Select "KEEP"

Now, recheck the Motif XF VST folder
It will briefly turn RED while it searches for and updates your listings.

I was getting wound up in some pretty complicated situations, but I think I have it all sorted out now.

Sometimes VST Presets get stored in:

C:UsersAppDataRoamingVST3 PresetsYamaha CorporationMOTIF XF VST

Other times, they get stored in:

C:UsersDocumentsVST3 PresetsYamaha CorporationMOTIF XF VST

My problem was that I was refreshing the wrong folder.

My path to learning how to use these things always seems to involve a trip through the Valley of Confusion before I finally get to climb to the top of the Mountain of Knowledge.

Thanks as always for your help…
