There is a universal (System Realtime )song start command (FA) that any MIDI device with a Start button sends. Hopefully your app does, can imagine it doesn't. Does it send Midi clock, as well?

Make sure your XF is set to receive it
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F5] CONTROL
Press [SF2] MIDI
Make sure MIDI SYNC is set to Midi (or "auto")
Make sue SEQUENCER CONTROL = In

I'm unfamiliar with the app, it sends Start but no clock?
If that is the case just set MIDI SYNC = internal.

...tried - no luck... my string (e.g.) for changing presets on the motif is: F0 43 10 7F 12 0A 00 00 00 F7 ....calls up first preset in mastermode...

i can put a virtual button on my app which can send out sysex....FA or FAH is doin nothing...when i put the above string into it and hit the virtual button preset 1 in mastermode is recalled....

i thought the hex string for song start should look a bid like the preset changing one....mmmnnnhh...completely wrong? :-))
