Does the XF have a way of displaying a list of the currently-defined User Arpeggios? I couldn't find anything in the Reference Manual or online.

Does the XF have a way of displaying a list of the currently-defined User Arpeggios? I couldn't find anything in the Reference Manual or online.

The explanation of the Arpeggio Category Search function (which was added with firmware version 1.10 back in 2011) appears in the Supplementary Manual (released when significant new features are added to the instrument). If you do not have the Supplementary Manual you can download it from the official Yamaha site: download.yamaha.com

The one currently posted (3/5/2014) has the full collections of additions to the Reference Manual for firmware versions: 1.50, 1.40, 1.30, 1.20 and 1.10

Basically, it works the same as Category Search does for Voices and Performances. At version 1.10 the Category Search function was expanded to include Arpeggios and Waveforms. To use it for Arps simply highlight any ARPEGGIO Select parameter and press [CATEGORY SEARCH].

When you create a USER ARP you select a number location 001-256, you can also set a Main and Sub Category for the Phrase, as well as giving the ARP a NAME. (All these parameters are found on the "PUT TRACK TO ARPEGGIO" Convert function screen.

All 7881 PRESET Arpeggios already populate the list, and you can use the SET/CLEAR function to create and remove a FAVORITE arpeggios list. The USER ARPEGGIOS, if any, will also appear by Main Category and Sub Category.
Please note the [SF6] FILTER - instead of seeing the NAME of every single arpeggio, when you FILTER you'll can see the just the group headings - this speeds the auditioning process as just the first arpeggio phrase in each "group" appears.

Categorizing your USER ARPS will make them easier to find.
