Love the XS Piano sound, bought the XF7, and find the XF7 piano very dark and bass heavy. XF8 piano in store sounds great. Is there a way to get that great classic XS piano sound on XF? Thanks

Hi Steve,
the Motif XF contains all voices and waveforms/samples from the Motif XS. The original XS-pianos (based on CFIII) can be found in PRE1 (e.g. Full Concert Grand on PRE1 - A01).
The new XF-pianos (based on S6) can be found in USR1 (e.g. Natural Grand S6 on USR1 - A01).
If the XF sounds slightly different compared to the XS for you (e.g. due to different DA converters; I for myself didn't hear a significant difference), you can compensate for that by adjusting the Master EQ to your taste.

"very dark and bass heavy" sounds like an issue with your sound system. The instrument itself is certainly not described as that. Sounds like a tweeter issue. Try a set of quality headphones - this will eliminate the possibility that is a sound system issue. If you still think it is 'very dark and bass heavy' then we can go from there. But there should be no significant difference between XS and XF piano sounds, and if, indeed the XF8 in the store sounded "great", maybe it is a sound system issue. let us know.
