A Turkish company called Carol Technologies is selling clones of the FL1024M flash memory on Reverb for $240.
Anybody have experience with this? Finding real Yamaha FL512M or FL1024M has become very difficult and expensive when they turn up.
The only clone board I have heard that people have had success with is the Mutec FMC-05 -06 or -07 for 512M, 1024M, or 2048M respectively. This is new info to me. I see someone with a video on Youtube who shows installing it and formatting it and at least that far the board seems to work. I'm guessing these will work although I don't see a lot of information about the Carol Technologies boards.

Thx for the reply Jason.
I remember the Mutec boards, those are even scarcer than the Yamaha boards.
At current prices on used MOXF6s (I don’t want an 8) adding in another $240 brings the total cost pretty close to used MODX6s. So I guess I'll scratch the MOXF off the list for good.
Sometimes on the used market you'll get lucky and find a MOXF with a card installed and a seller who's not trying to upsell.
I'm looking at these now and I'm reminded that I actually bought a MOXF (I think it was a MOXF and not a MOX) since my MO6 took a nosedive. After realizing the faders (I mean, sliders in Yamaha speak) got replaced by knobs I just couldn't do it and returned it. Ended up repairing my MO6. In order to bring in different sounds I would ride the faders and push one up while pulling one down. I came up with a technique for the MOX(F) but just couldn't see doing this every gig if there was an alternative. These days I don't use the sliders so much anymore since now I use scenes to bring in/out sounds (Parts).
That's really my biggest/personal-may-not-apply-to-you critique of the MOX(F) units.
