Of course you'll need some software, a computer doesn't do much without it. The question is what type of computer are you using and what would you like to do?

Your MOXF, if purchased new, came with an Access Code allowing you a free download of the latest version of Cubase AI (a Steinberg Music Production software package that allows recording Audio and MIDI with your MOXF via USB). Also if you navigate to the MOXF Product Page on the Yamaha.com website, you will find other free software for the MOXF (including the "Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8 Editor Standalone/VST").

Yes, definitely you need a software to connect moxf8 to a computer so that it can work properly. If your computer had malware then may not work properly. If you want to know that your computer contains malware or not then contact us windows defender tech support and we will let you know and also remove them.
