FC7 Controller question

Hello.
I have a moxf8 alongside Cubase 8 artist on Windows 7. I use the FC7 controller for the volume and I get this behaviour:
Every note I play is played on the volume that the instrument is set to, not the one set by the pedal. When I move the pedal a little the volume "jumps" to the new value creating an irregular feeling. Is there some setting I can use so that volume midi values are read from the pedal only? (I don't know if I am making any sense...)

An FC7 plugged into the Foot Controller jack will send cc011 Expression. When a program is first recalled the STORED volume setting is recalled. The STORED value is controlled by cc007 Main Ch Volume. By default, cc011 will reset to 127 every time you recall a program... this is true whether or not the pedal is in the toe-down position. So yes, the volume will jump to the physical value as soon as you move the pedal.

Expression works within the maximum Main (channel) Volume... so think of cc011 as musical expression -the volume you change while performing; and think of cc007 as the mixer's volume setting. Expression works *within* the maximum set for the mixer Channel.

By default, controllers will normally RESET to their own particular nominal value.
Sustain pedal for example, resets to Off (0)
Foot Controllers to 127 maximum
PB Wheel to +0000
AF1/2 to Off (0)
MW to (0)
Aftertouch to (0) minimum

The PB Wheel is spring-loaded and automatically resets physically. The Foot pedal controllers and the MW will reset to their respective settings regardless of the physical position of the control. This default, ensures each new program starts from the stored values.

If you would rather manually RESET your controllers, that is, have the current position of the physical controller to take precedence you can set the parameter CONTROLLER RESET = "Hold"
(See page 142 of the Reference Manual)

This will mean the FC7's position will maintain the current value when you recall a new program - within the current mode. If you move from Voice to Voice, or from Performance to Performance, your controller values will hold (persist). If you move from one mode to another, however, the controllers will be RESET initially. MODE CHANGE is a major reset, by design.

Press [UTILITY]
Press [F1] GENERAL
Press [SF6] OTHER
Set CTRL RESET = Hold

Please be aware this does not just affect the Foot Controller Pedals, you will need to police the MW's position yourself.

I changed the setting. I think it's better now, but I still get peaks. I play a note, I move the pedal and the volume does not proceed from what I hear but changes directly to a higher lever 🙁

P.S. When I play on moxf alone, the volume pedal works perfectly. It is something to do with a cubase setting maybe?

Sure, it could be. MIDI is always about the most recent value sent. And depending on how you have your Preferences set in Cubase you may find the volume "chasing" the last value for volume. The Chase Event function will look in the Track data for the volume value according to the measure location... so that if the last value set was xx, the volume will reset to that value. If you have this activated your pedal and the actual volume will disagree.

From Cubase documentation....
Chase
Chase is a function that makes sure your MIDI instruments sound as they should when you locate to a new position and start playback. This is accomplished by the program transmitting a number of MIDI messages to your instruments each time that you move to a new position in the project, making sure all MIDI devices are set up correctly with regard to program change, controller messages (such as MIDI Volume), etc.
