Thanks for your reply. I have been through just about all of the official tutorials, including the one you referenced. What I am trying to do involves the resident preset instruments of both the MOXf6 and Cubase Pro 9 in the same song. The instructions in MOXF Basic Audio Recording are for audio files, which in my understanding (admittedly very limited) are tailored to real instruments, micophones, etc. My sound comes from computer speakers (Altec Lansing) out of the phone jack on the MOXf6. I have tried my Focusrite 2i4 with shielded wires to two $180 ea. Sterling Audio MX8 studio monitors. I tried them also directly out of the audio output of the MOXf6. These caused a very bad hum which made me take them back. This is for my personal use only so I don't need pure sound (rather sound that pleases me). I have tried a variety of configurations of both Cubase and the MOXf6, some of which allowed me to record the Cubase instruments and some that allowed me to record the MOXf6 instruments but never both. The sound seemed to be the ultimate thing that did not work when both were tried. Some of those configurations involved the MOXf6 editor (which I like) and some involved using the remote editing controls on the MOXf6. These two items are supposed to be a matched pair so it is very frustrating that I can't seem to find a combination that works after watching many many tutorials and reading sections from several manuals and online advice. I don't intend on making money with my music but I am fussy about the quality of the voices. I have spent a lot of money (for me) trying to do this and am disappointed that the seemingly relatively basic task is so difficult to configure. Both the software and the keyboard are obviously of very high quality but they do everything for everyone. It sure would be nice if someone wrote a bunch of very detailed setup configurations which do 5 or 10 of the most common tasks. If you know of one that does this, please steer me to it. The audio recording tutorial did not seem to work for me. Perhaps I did something wrong. Thanks for responding.

That was exactly what I needed and it was very well written (detailed step by step configuration with consequences for each step). I wish more manuals for music production were written like that. Was that yours? If it was congratulations. I have been floundering around for months trying to put that sequence together and it is now working. Thanks again,
