I have a sample library I created for the MOXF and MOTIF XF but I developed it on the MOXF as that's the only synth I own. I used the John Melas Waveform Editor to create the library and custom samples but I have found a problem. The software does not yet allow for Performance editing, and I created a MOXF ALL File and I opened the ALL File in the Waveform Editor software to convert it from a MOXF ALL File to a MOTIF XF ALL File. It did all of the Voices and Samples just fine but like I said, it completely left out all of the Performances which is the main appeal of the library.
Is there any way to convert my MOXF ALL File to the MOTIF XF ALL File without having to borrow a MOTIF XF to re-create all of the performances? Bad Mister, if you read this could you possibly convert my ALL File to the MOTIF XF ALL File. I hope someone can help.

In spite of what you said you did, you did not create or capture your MOXF-made Performances in the Waveform Editor. It deals with User Voices, User Arpeggios, and of course, Waveforms and the Samples that they organize. Performances are all made from the Voices currently available in the synth. The Waveform Editor does not deal with Performances.

Thanks for the job offer, but I already have a job! π
What is the ultimate goal, here? You have a MOXF, correct? The data you made works in the MOXF, correct?
The MOXF data does not load into the Motif XF... yes the Motif XF is a model up but more significantly is that it is older product... and believe it or not, the MOXF has new Arpeggio content not found in the Motif XF. This new Arpeggio content was not yet made in 2010 when the XF came out. The MOXF can load Motif XF data even though it is model down from the XF, it has the advantage of perspective... it can translate the older XFβs data because it has a lookup table that tells it where to find what it needs.
Motif XF .X3A (2010) = All data includes Voices, Performances, Waveform/Samples, Arpeggios
MOXF .X6A (2013) = All data includes Voices, Performances, Waveform/Samples, Arpeggios
So there is data that your file might ask for and not find in the Motif XF.
Again, what is the ultimate goal with this data?
Instead of being like a lot of musicians today, instead of looking back all the time... turn around and look forward.
If you made a MOXF ALL data (.X6A) File, the MONTAGE (.X7A) is the product after the MOXF... It can read your MOXF File and can load your Performances and you donβt have to do anything. Think MONTAGE... itβs like playing eight Motif XFβs...
Extra Credit: the DX7 (1983) will not read your MOXF data either π
I wanted to come back this post and apologize for my previous now deleted comment. I've always deeply admired Phil but did feel this comment was written with the intent of mocking. For anyone reading, I did find out that the physical MOTIF XF and MOXF was needed to do what I wanted to do.
Because the software I was using could import MOXF ALL Files but it left out Performances. So if I saved an MOXF all file then loaded it in with the John Melas software to convert that file for the MOTIF XF. I could, but no User Peformance data would be included in the conversion. Only waveform and voice data.
Sorry to dig up and old post, but I did feel bad saying what I originally said in response to Phil's response. I don't think I made it originally clear I was trying to do all that I wanted to do via software only. I only own an MOXF.
Yes, if you can find compatible hardware than the hardware can handle the conversion. So finding a Motif XF is a way to go. Either that or entrusting your MOXF all file to someone who has a Motif XF. Depending on the source of the data - this may be dicey with respect to license/ownership/etc. If you're entirely your own creation - then you only need worry about the handling (possible future use, possible distribution) of your content. This is one reason why you do not see sample sharing on Soundmondo (along with the sheer storage size required - so there's also a technical reason).
Looking at the used market of Motif XF - I don't see them coming down sharply although they're substantially less than retail (new) price. Currently, I see Motif XF as the best last-gen to have (for pure a pure ROMpler Yamaha synth) so it may be worthwhile to scoop one up if you find a great local deal. I don't see these in abundance - so that keeps the pricing up there.
Also, shops don't frequently have them on the shelves to just come in and do the conversion work as you could probably have done more easily several years ago.
Good luck with any future conversion needs you have.
