Is there any midi message (CC or PC) to mute/unmute tracks in pattern mode?

No.

First, there is no MIDI message for Mute, per se.
The Yamaha Track Mute command can only be used in the linear Song.

Mutes like most automation only makes sense on a linear timeline.

Logically speaking, you cannot document automation in a looping segment.... say you have a four measure Pattern section A.
If you activate a Mute — audio stops — it never comes back. Say you want to have the Section play for 4 times at which time you want to mute the drums... where are going to place that Mute command?

If you said “top of measure 17” ... you must realize you don’t have a measure 17, you have a four measure section, that plays 1-2-3-4 over and over. The concept, the thought of a measure 17 shows you why you cannot have Mute commands in Pattern mode. The very description defines a “linear structure”.

To create that linear structure in Pattern mode, you must create a Pattern Chain (there you can create you Mutes)...

So again, the Yamaha Mute command can only be used in the linear modes: Pattern Chain and Song. You can place six Mute configurations (one on each Scene button) these are for real-time use. You can place an unlimited number of Track Mute events on the dedicated Track for Scene and Track Mutes.

For example, SONG and TRACK MUTES
Press [EDIT]
Press [F4] TrackSelect — press repeatedly to toggle between the Numbered Tracks, Tempo Track, and Scene Track.
On the Scene Track you can INSERT Mute events wherever, whenever you require them.

Pattern is a construction tool — it allows you to create a linear structure — what we call a ‘Song’
Mutes, Volume changes, pan movement, etc are types of automation — that due to their nature, are best added after the Pattern has been *chained* - A Pattern Chain is a documented play order listing for your sections, it lays out the linear structure so you can identify measure 17 as different from what happens in measure 1.

Another example: PATTERN CHAIN and TRACK MUTES
Pattern Chains can contain Track Mute events. You can insert as many of these as you require. As is true with PATTERN mode you cannot record SCENE Events to a Pattern Chain but you can record Track Mutes, either in real time or insert them on the EVENT LIST when you EDIT the PATTERN CHAIN.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the clarification. I wanted to be able to do that with a midi footswich while I play guitar.
