I know this is a subject that has been covered before, but I just want to get the scoop from the experts. I bought the Motif Premium Collection for XF (which included the 512mb card, which is the first reason I bought it, actually). Of course with it comes the XF premium collection files. I'm hoping to load the much coveted, impossible to find (for the MOXF) CS-80 sounds from the XF collection. Before you start asking why I bought the XF version, it's because the MOXF version is impossible to get, either new or used!
I bought my MOXF8 during the promotion period where they were offering the Premium Pack for the MOXF, but didn't see the promotion til AFTER it expired, thus excluding me. 🙁 I tried writing Yamaha CS and begging, even copying them on my receipt, but no response. Anyway, since then I have purchased an MOXF6 and needed a 512MB card for it anyway, so I found the XF pack on eBay and bought it. Whether I ever get the CS-80 patches working is anyone's guess, but I'd definitely like to think it's possible! Can anyone help?
Thanks much in advance,
Bill
Update: I read the article posted in the Articles section on loading the CS-80 sounds from XF Premium to the MOXF. Currently loading now.
If you need the bank converted I can do it for you with my melas tools 🙂

Thanks for the offer, Gris! I actually got the sounds loaded last night. They are amazing. It's no wonder they are highly regarded. Soon I'm hoping to do a demo video of the sounds, because there aren't any video demos out there for them. I kind of bought them just believing they would be great - and luckily they are.
Hi Bill,
As a MOXF user I bought the XF Premium Pack because of the same reasons you explained above - the MOXF Premium Pack was simply not officially available anywhere for existing MOXF owners, so I finally had to buy the XF version separately from a Yamaha-authorized store some years ago. The only drawback is that the CS80 "bonus" library won't sound in the MOXF as intended by the programmer (Athan Billias). It's because of the fact that some Motif XF effects used in that library have never made it into the MOXF. More information related to that compatibility issue can be found here.
The same problem applies to the "Ultimate Piano Collection" version which is also included in that XF Premium Pack. Some pre-programmed piano hall effects - exclusively available for the XF series - will simply not being heard at all when these voices are loaded into the MOXF.
Edit: To be clear, I'm referring to the Yamaha 40th Anniversary Premium Packs, not the Motif 10th Anniversary Premium Packs.
That is correct. Certain "bonus" data is exclusively for a specific promotion on a specific piece of gear. The data is appropriately named to ensure that it reach the right product. The newly developed HD and guitar effects Effects, under development for the then breadboard Montage, were provided in a firmware update to XF owner's. The MOXF unfortunately did not have the hardware resources to include these. (Should we not have upgraded the XF - wouldn't seem fair to XF owners? -Rhetorical)
"The MOXF unfortunately did not have the hardware resources to include these."
I am surprised by this, because as far as I know, the MOXF has the same tone generators as the Motif XF (SWP51).
