Hi, I will soon buy this air drumming software:
It uses camera with sensors attached to drum sticks and feet and outputs MIDI notes to VSTi drum libraries. Now I would like to use it to play / trigger internal drums on my MOXF6 and not VSTis. So, is it possible to use laptop only for Aerodrums software to run on and for the MOXF as MIDI interface only by USB connection and not audio interface too? MIDI only because I would like to use MOXF otherwise standalone (all the internal sounds triggered directly via MOXF keyboard, except drum tracks via USB from Aerodrums and recording everything to MOXF internal sequencer only, so no Cubase or any other DAW or soft sampler would be used).
Thanks!
Your questions are really specific to this device. I'm sorry but I could only speculate. If you were using a DAW - I could tell you about how to route the signal from there to the MOXF. But I'm afraid the makes of Aerodrums will have to tell you how to Output MIDI from their software to the external world. I would contact them - they may not know the MOXF, but it could be any external MIDI device - how does their software get MIDI to external devices. That they will be able to give you definitive instruction.
If you connect the MOXF via a USB cable just make sure MIDI In/Out = USB. If you connect the MOXF through some other device that delivers via a 5-pin MIDI cable, set MIDI In/Out = MIDI. That's all you need to know on the MOXF... besides matching the MIDI channel.
Let us know... sounds interesting.
