After 5pinDIN (from the Motifator forums) discovered some undocumented SysEx commands which worked for the Motif XF, I took the chance to check if they'd also be fully functional on a MOXF synthesizer. By just replacing the Motif XF model ID (12) with the one applicable for the MOXF (1C 00), I was able to confirm last weekend that the following SysEx commands will also work on a MOXF. Here are the details:

AF Button Status Change:

With the following commands you will be able to switch the AF buttons (e.g. by triggering the SysEx commands via an arpeggiator or a pattern/song/sequencer track) while you are in any MOXF Mode. In fact, one single SysEx command is necessary to define the status for both AF buttons simultaneously:

AF1 off / AF2 off:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 70 05 00 00 00 F7

AF1 on / AF2 off:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 70 05 00 01 00 F7

AF1 off / AF2 on:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 70 05 00 02 00 F7

AF1 on / AF2 on:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 70 05 00 03 00 F7

Voice Change:

Another nice functionality that can be achieved via sending SysEx messages is to change the voice that's currently selected. However, it is presumed that you are in VOICE MODE and the proper voice bank (any preset or user bank) has already been selected:

Voice Change:
F0 43 10 7F 1C 00 65 00 02 xy F7
where xy represents any voice number 1~128 (00 to 7F hex), referring to the currently selected voice bank. Please note that for any drum bank (PDR, UDR, GMDR) the highest voice number will be of course lower than 7F, depending on which bank you have currently selected.

It would be great if any interesting findings related to undocumented SysEx commands - like the ones mentioned above - could be shared by Motif users. As you see, the same functions may even work on different models, just by applying slight modifications, so what do you think about collecting here more stuff like that?
