I have no specifics on this particular drive, but in general, USB drives that feature any kind of copy protection software built in, should be avoided. Music devices seem to have issues with that copy protection software. For that reason alone I would steer clear of these drives. Testing on things like drives is on going. Yamaha cannot test every device that comes out, but from time to time will publish a list of tested devices.

I don't know what it is about the copy protection software but it may see real time access its "vaulted data" as a threat.
