Purchase a USB B to female a adapter and my iPad does not recognize the moxf

I'm not sure what that is you are describing but it does sound like any thing that would work. You need a cable and an adapter.
You need a standard USB cable (also called a “printer cable" because of its popular use in connecting computers to printers) you also need the Apple CCK (Camera Connection Kit) adapter for your particular i-device connector (Lightning, for example).

The adapter i purchased is a printer type. USB "B" that Plugs into host port on moxf. The other end is USB "A" female. This is where your ipad cord plugs in.

You need the Camera Connection Kit adapter. Without that bit of “intelligent conversion” it will not work - it is NOT just a matter of matching the connectors. Am I not being clear?... it’s an Apple Camera Connection Kit adapter placed together with a regular USB cable.
