I use MainStage 3 on a MacBookPro, all works great with my new MOXF8. When I try to connect to my older M08 with the same USB cable, I can't get the midi to work. The midi will work If I use a 5-pin midi interface, but I'd prefer the simpler USB cable. I have installed the USB driver software on the MBP, that was required to get the MOXF8 working. Any suggestions?

The MO8 (circa 2005) uses a different MIDI driver - do you have it installed on your computer? You mention "the USB driver" as if you are unaware that they use entirely different drivers
MOXF uses "Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver" version 1.9.10 for Mac
MO8 uses the "Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver" version 1.3.2 for Mac
Totally different! Get the right driver for the MO8 and your problem will sort itself out.
Yes they can both coexist on your computer, each will address the appropriate product.
