Spent over an hour trying to unlock FM Essential @ Guitar Center. No matter what we tried, kept getting “Incompatible USB Device” on the MX Display. We tried several different MX models, same deal. New iPad Pro with latest update. Wassup?

It takes literally five seconds when connected properly.
You need to connect the MX49/MX61 BK/BU/WH or the MX88’s TO HOST Port to your iDevice via a USB cable and an Apple CameraConnectionKit adapter.
Connect the USB cable to the MX’s “TO HOST” port, the iPad is the Host.
Did you have an Apple CCK adapter? ...very important.
Authorization is immediate. (Having Apple’s “latest update” is never a guarantee of anything... just FYI. Breaks as much as it fixes sometimes, and is really meaningless without a version number, as updates can happen between the time you post and the time you get a response)... just saying... but let’s assume it’s not the iOS, and assume it’s the connection first...
