I'm a 72 year old keyboard player that has been playing some form of keyboard instrument since he was 5 years old, probably longer than most of you have been alive. I've owned several different keyboards,, most of them on the lower end of the spectrum but they functioned for the rock bands I've played in. Last summer I came into some money so I decided to get something better than what I had. I looked at Rolands, Korgs and Yamaha keyboards and it ended up being an MX61. Mostly because I liked the features but partly because it only weighed 10 lbs., easy to transport. I have not regretted my choice for 1 second however there are things on it I don't understand and maybe never will, you know the teaching an old dog new tricks thing. I may never get the most out of my "new toy" but I would like some advice about a few things. Firstly I have found a number of preset you ds that I will use frequently. Is there a way to save those sounds somewhere that I could easily access them when I'm performing? Secondly I have favourite sounds that I have had for years such as a Hammond B3 and a Fender Rhides, you know the classic 60's and 70's sounds. Also I like and use different synth sounds(I came across a sound called Lucky which sounds like it came right out of Emersons Luck Man sound). Can anyone recommend some possible sounds that might work for me? Once again try and keep it simple for a72 gear old but give me as much detail as possible.
