Sync Tempo of other MIDI Devices or DAW with MX

Hello,

I am wondering if other MIDI devices or a DAW like Cubase or Live can automatically use the tempo set on the MX. For example, VST intruments in Cubase, loops, software synths/arpeggios - it would be very handy if I can change the tempo on the MX and the DAW is synchronized. Is that at all possible? Is the real time MIDI data sent by the MX transmitting this information?

Or would the DAW/other device need to make a SysEX query, receive a SysEX reply, and process that information into its own language?

Many thanks

Frank

Cubase does not slave to MIDI clock. Many pro DAWs do not slave to MIDI clock, often they are recording audio so it is logical to have the DAW as the Master clock — MIDI adjusts easily to tempo change, audio requires massive amounts of CPU to adjust tempo.

Set your DAW to send MIDI clock to the MX on Port 1
Set the MX to MIDI SYNC = MIDI

Set Tempo in the DAW, the MX will follow the DAW - You can even build a tempo change map in most DAWs.
