Hi Phil,
Is the MX49 considered a USB 3 device?
I'm looking for the proper adapter that is seen in the promotional MX (Blue & FM Essentials) videos.
Is this what I need?

No, the MX is not USB 3.0
Yes that adapter will work -it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
You simply need to get the Lightning-to-USB Camera adapter unless there are features in the more expensive one that you need for something else.
