Can anyone please tell me what the hold up is on the New Motif XF. In a world that is moving so fast, 2 years is long time, it's been 5 Yrs for the Motif XF. I've noticed the rebates from Yamaha (Quite a deal) Could that be a sign? Touchscreen is a must...Yamaha, Do not make this mistake!! 🙁 ! I repeat, Do not make this mistake!!!!!!! We need a touchscreen. A much Bigger screen, the one on the S970 Arranger is nice, but there is no touchscreen (In 2015) Waow!!! Put an IPad in there for God's sake or an iPad slot whatever ....I gotta get to work now, I'll talk to ya'll soon.

Thank You very much

I would think whatever flagship workstation Yamaha releases next would pick up a few things from the Kronos - streaming samples from SSD, several different synthesis methods (they pioneered that with the PLG boards) and large touchscreen. But maybe not - with the MoXF Yamaha has done a lot to enable using a PC with the workstation.

I'd also like to see them bring back the BC controller and the BC input on their keyboards..

I guess the next synthesizer from YAMAHA is MONTAGE!!!
Expecting an 76key version PSR-S/ 76 Midi controller also.

the new kurzweil forte 7 looks tempting with great pianos with good resonance but with mooshie fatar light action, leavies the only hope left , yamaha , hopefuly with s- 90 or CP4 action and 40 LBs or less , with mod and pitch wheels located upper feft and not on left end , to create a nice portible board with latest clavanova cfx and Bosie pianos with virtual resanonce , and I will be first in line to purchase . Been holding out for this magical purchase! Yamaha has been focasing on the home pianos, and its time to focus on the gigging musicians at this moment in time !!!!! I beg of you !!!

We had discussions with Yamaha back in the Summer about a replacement for the MOXF...which included a large touch screen and the addition of one or more synth engines. I can't see Yamaha bringing that to the mid-range without also updating the flagship too. Although having said that, we were not talking about 'updating' rather a whole new line of keyboards to replace 'Motif'

From what I have heard recently there is a very good chance we can expect something soon, possibly not for NAMM 2016 but certainly for MusikMesse in April.

I am hoping this is not going to be yet another AWM2 based line. They really do need to bring us something very different from what has gone before.
