there was a wonderful salsa piano performance with percussive elements in yamaha motif. Can i get a suggestion for a sound combination similar to this salsa piano in montage.

All the Motif waveforms are in the Montage Presets. Possibly some (or all?) of the Performances might be already there too. Go to Category Search, set the Bank/Favorite to 'Motif' and then select Piano

Yesterday, Bad Mister said you should already have that same performance on the Montage
https://yamahasynth.com/forum/how-to-filter-multi-voice-performances-like-performances-on-motif-moxf-without-simple-voices#reply-121706

All 512 Motif XF Performances are found in your MONTAGE (They were added in an update a couple of years ago). Additionally, all 1354 individual Motif XF Voices are contained as Single Part (green) programs among the 2,739 MONTAGE Performances.

From the [PERFORMANCE (HOME)] screen:
Press [CATEGORY SEARCH]
Touch the “Bank/Favorites” box to see a drop down list of your internal Banks
Set the “Bank/Favorite” = MOTIF XF PERFORM
The result field will list all of the original Motif XF Performances (512).

The 'Piano Latino' perf has a nice beat but I don't know if that is the one you are looking for.

If you need to just hit the 'AUDITION' button and then try the performances one at a time that you think might be the one you want.

Yes! You just adjust the tempo and make it as mild or hot as you need :p

C'mon people - please be courteous and stop spamming other people's threads.

OP ask a legitimate question and deserves replies that are relevant to what they ask.

Lighten up! We've answered/answering his question as much as we can, and will continue to assist with follow-up questions, but we can also have fun on here too, keeping things a bit light and not so serious all the time.
You have no business telling anyone on hear to stop spamming other people's threads when you are polluting one of these threads with your anti-vaxxing pandemic conspiracy BS worse than I've ever seen a thread hijacked on any site or forum ever!!

Nothing you said is relevant to the question asked.

And I have never posted a single comment about anti-vaxxing. That spam was posted by you and another Andrew. So get your facts straight for once.

Unfortunately the ES series performances weren't bulk converted like the XS ones were.

You may have to find someone with a MOTIF ES to export that performance for you. Then you can load it into the Montage using the instructions Yamaha provides here:
https://usa.yamaha.com/products/music_production/synthesizers/montage/compatibility.html

Compatibility with the MOTIF ES

Yamaha MOTIF ES synthesizer Voices can be loaded into MONTAGE using both MOTIF XF Editor VST and MOTIF ES Voice Editor software. Note, however, that since the internal waveforms of the MOTIF ES and MONTAGE do not match, MOTIF ES’s compatibility with MONTAGE is equivalent to its compatibility with the MOTIF XS. Only Voices that are based on MOTIF ES internal waveforms can be read, so Voice data created with user samples cannot be loaded. In addition, MOTIF ES Voice Editor may not be compatible with the latest computer operating systems. The steps for loading a Voice file are as follows:

1. Save Voice data in the MOTIF ES. Select either All Files (.W7A) or All Voice Files (.W7V) as the file save format.

2. Copy the saved file via USB flash memory, and open it using MOTIF ES Voice Editor.

3. Save the copied file using MOTIF ES Voice Editor. Use the file extension .W7E.

4. Import the saved .W7E file using MOTIF XF Editor VST.

5. Save the imported file using MOTIF XF Editor VST with the file extension .X3E.

6. Load the saved .X3E file into the MONTAGE via USB flash memory.

If the Motif ES (and MO6/8) use a standard arpeggio for "Salsalicio" that's not a part of Montage, then the W7V file isn't going to supply this arpeggio.

I didn't see that the free/promotional libraries for the XS or XF have this offered either.

You could resolve the arpeggio to MIDI and reconstruct it. Hopefully there's no "special sauce" that the user arpeggio system cannot produce. Probably being from the ES timeframe there's less of that to worry about - although there's always some possibility that factory ARPs have some unique capabilities not offered to user arps.

Resolving the arpeggio to MIDI would also involve having either an ES or MO6/8 on hand. Although there may be ways to export as MIDI - I would play the arpeggio and capture the MIDI data with a computer and then go from there. My MO6 is down right now since I need to do repair work on it that has been getting pushed out.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

Bull f'*&^%g sh!te, with your exaggerated "Nothing"!! I basically said in my first post the same as what BM said, as a starting point on where to look...

And I have never posted a single comment about anti-vaxxing. That spam was posted by you and another Andrew. So get your facts straight for once.

My bad on the name mix up. But I wasn't trying to post spam all over that other thread if you read what I posted. Get your own facts in order for once before you make that comment, both for what I first said in this thread and what I said in the other one as I was trying to stop the other Andrew from spamming it!!

Salsalicio:

https://soundmondo.yamahasynth.com/voices/105359

Extra Credit:
This was a Motif ES “Voice” (not a Performance). It is made up of 4 Elements:
Acoustic Piano
Electric Bass
Electric Guitar
Shaker

In the Motif ES (like the MONTAGE/MODX/MODX+) each AWM2 Element is a complete synth pathway (Oscillator, Filter, Amplitude each with its own LFO, routing through the Insert Effects, etc.). Of course, you could build this as a Performance where each component is a separate Part — but as you can see, it can be accomplished with just 4 Elements.

There are 5 different Arp Phrases assigned
Arp Select 1, 2 and 5 are “N” Type (no chord necessary - one note creates entire Phrase
Arp Select 3 and 4 will respond to Major/Minor/etc…
