Hi Folks,
I used my tablet to control the sounds (bank change and programm select) while switching between song sheets. This is perfect for the stage to always have the correct sound for each song. Then I started to also change some common parameters of a voice or a performance by the tablet. I always used system exclusive midi commands. But when I wanted to change the parameters of a single voice element, nothing happened.
Here my commands (for a Yamaha S90):
F0 43 10 6B 0A 00 01 00 F7
F0 43 10 6B 0A 00 01 04 F7
F0 43 10 6B 40 70 37 59 F7
all of them are doing fine :).
But when I try to change the level of one voice element with the command:
F0 43 10 6B 41 03 20 xx F7 nothing happens!! On voice level everything works, on element level I was not successfull :(.
Is this possible by system exclusive commands or do I need to use other commands? It would be great as otherwise I need to waste a lot of memory on my S90, one for each song.....
Thanks and best regards
Matze
What Mode are you in when attempting to adjust Element Level?
I'm in the voice mode (the simplest one). So the elements of the voice are directly one level below.
Sorry for not mentioning this detail π
Thanks and Best Regards.

P.s.: Changing the mode and afterwards setting the new Voice or Performance (or both in the master mode)
is working perfect.
But when I wanted to change the parameters of a single voice element, nothing happened....
...F0 43 10 6B 41 03 20 xx F7...
This message is going to change Element #4 ("03"); Is this the Element you are attempting to adjust?
Shure,... this is the voice element which I wanted to reduce. It has a very pregnant sound (what does not fit in this particular song).
I also tried the other elements.... But perhaps the index starts with 1 and I need to use "04" to change the Element #4... I thought I already tried that :).
Thanks
Matze
No, the count always begins with zero. This way the values up to sixteen can be represented by single character 0 thru F
MIDI channels, 1-16, can be represented, for example, 00-0F
And numbers up to 256 can be represented by two characters... 00-FF
Unfortunately, I no longer have an S90 to verify whatβs happening. But Iβll try to find out if there is a typo in the DATA LIST. Standby...
