This keyboard looks great! I've long wanted to pick up a keyboard with waterfall keys, in order to develop some proper organ chops, and now the YC61 is definitely the one I would get.

It's exciting to see that it packs 8-operator FM synthesis. I'm curious how much capability is available for loading custom user FM sounds from a computer or USB stick. Is it too early to ask for this in an OS update? 😀

The team claims an ideascale category will be added soon. As of this second, I don't see the YC category added yet. Once it is - that's probably the best place to lobby for changes.

That sort of deeper programming capability goes against what the product line is about - but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I asked here because I don't know if the loading of new FM patches will be a capability provided "out of the box" — the bit about an OS update was mostly for humor, being that the thing isn't even available yet. I figure this would more involve PC/Mac/Linux editor software rather than a YC OS update, anyways.

I think that an external "FM editor" would largely be a separate product targeted toward a different market (sound designers such as EasySounds), with the YC61 target market (what the product line is about) gaining added value through simply being able to purchase new FM sounds.
