Is there an indicator somewhere that shows when edits have been made?
Several times I've stored scene(s) then forgot to do a performance store. It'd be nice if the performance name text changed colors like (orange or red) to let you know to save if you need/want to.
Thanks

I've placed in my "tutorial" of scene editing that [STORE] is an important step. It's easy to think once you "save" a scene that the storing is done automatically - but it isn't. It simply saves the settings to a temporary location which itself is not associated with any performance until you [STORE].
Your edit buffer doesn't have any sets of warnings when you take actions that will clear your edit buffer.
There is a function to see the original values before your edit by pressing [SHIFT] + [EDIT]. However, you have to be in a screen with changed information to see what's changed - and if you change the data back - the [EDIT] button will still flash even though you have restored the performance back to its original settings. So although can be used, sort of a blunt tool.
I would rather just use methodology (process, steps) to ensure doing the right thing rather than relying on the indicators that do exist today.
In the past - Yamaha provided a small "icon" to show you've made some edits (ES series is my reference). I don't necessarily see the same thing today although I may have missed it.

Yes, when any change has been made to the stored condition of a recalled Performance, a small blue flag will indicate this... it is located in the Performance Name box, right side of the screen.
I see it now. No wonder I missed it before. I was accustomed to the "E" (edit indicator) of the MO series (through the current MOXF). The edit indicator for the MO line (MO6/8, MOX6/8, MOXF6/8) is global ("top line" of screen - then LCD for MO series) - so it would be shown on "all" screens. Now, with Montage, you have to press [PERFORMANCE] (HOME) to inspect if any edits have been made.

Yes, if that short term memory fails, the "Home" screen is the best place to go before moving away from this or any program you are working with... Presumably, if you've pressed [EDIT] you did so with the intention of making a change. The fact that you are on an Edit screen and the EDIT button is lit, should be all the reminder you need that you made a change or at least intended to when you entered Edit.
If you are 'performing' the sound and you "edit" the Performance by moving a controller, etc, the flag immediately alerts you - basically it's saying that the data is now in a different condition from what is stored.
The Home screen - It is also where you can determine which Bank and Program number location you are working with. That other small icon denotes the pop-in menu when you touch that box.
If you are playing on a PRESET or LIBRARY Performance when you press [EDIT], then pressing [STORE] will always cause a 'store as...': "New Performance" situation.
If you are playing a USER Performance when you press [EDIT], then pressing [STORE] will offer you an option to Overwrite (save) or create New (save as)...
Most times before you move away from an edit session, you would return to the Home screen. If you are unsure if the data you changed has been saved the Montage raises a "flag" to let you know.
That's the glass half full version...
