Tempo-Based Tremolo LFO Speed?

I have been trying to tie the LFO Speed of the Tremolo effect to the Tempo. I tried a number of different tricks using a Motion Sequence, but nothing worked.

Is it possible to do this in some way, with or without the Motion Sequence?

The "Tremolo" effect 1st parameter is "LFO Speed" with a range of 0.0Hz - 39.7Hz and there's a table for all of the values between where the parameter value is between 0-127.

I take it you want to translate the current tempo into a value 0-127 to "feed" to the Tremolo effect so if you speed up the tempo - the Tremolo "tracks" the tempo change.

How are you utilizing a motion sequence to do this? A motion sequence relates to time by telling a virtual "knob" (the Lane) to change over time to (possibly) different output values. Every "tick" of the clock is a possible spot where you can tell the lane (virtual knob) to snap to a different "position" to output a different value. One way to think about it is that each Part gets a mini-superknob that can be automated and the output of this "mini superknob" follows a pattern defined by the pulse patterns.

That the speed of possible inflection points can change in sync with tempo doesn't seem to (directly) relate tempo to an output value. So I'm wondering what you've been trying or how you're thinking MS would give output values that would relate to tempo.

One way I can think to link these would be to construct a Part that would get "louder" or "softer" depending on the tempo. And for this arpeggios and/or possibly MS in combination could be used with envelope follower to generate a value that relates tempo to an output value.

Another approach would be to adjust AEG attack and decay and use that in conjunction to try to make a Part louder/softer with tempo.

Pretty much everything I can think of mangles a Part using tempo-based variation to try to make the Part louder/softer due to tempo and then use the envelope follower to generate the value.

As an alternative - there is a tempo flanger or tempo phaser effect that somewhat resemble tremolo at least at higher frequencies.

The Tremolo Effect cannot be sync’d to Tempo.

You can create your own Tremolo using the “Part LFO” in the AWM2 engine — which can be sync’d to tempo, and can create the Tremolo as you may desire.

Below I have taken a Wurli EP and used the “Part LFO” to generate the Tremolo

“LFO Wave” — several candidates here (Triangle, Triangle+, Trapezoid) your choice
Both Triangle and Trapezoid go to silence in between peaks, Triangle + never really disappears totally; depending on what you are applying it to will/should be the determining factor.
“Tempo Speed” — we’re not sure what instrument you are doing but this will give you the musical subdivision referencing the current Tempo. I have an “1/8” note
“Key On Reset” = 1st-On
“Loop” = On
“Destination” = Level
“Depth” to taste (you may wish to assign this for real-time control (this is an assignable parameter)
“Element Depth Ratio” — here I have the Level being altered on Elements 1-5 (no need on the mechanical noise, Elem6, 7)

I programmed the “Depth” to the Ribbon (choose whatever you like) The Ribbon is set to HOLD (so the Depth amount will remain where you last touch the Ribbon). The Right side is maximum Tremolo, Left side minimum Tremolo.

Possible caveat: Part LFO as described requires AWM2 due to lack of level destination in FM-X Part LFO and Element-level LFO is not tempo sync'd.

You're correct, Jason. I was working with am FM-X sound.

I finally implemented the tremolo by creating a motion sequence tied to the tempo, and set it up to control the volume of the Part,
