Hey there! New to forum and would like to 1st say, it's good to find this and you all out here!
I am trying to update my MoFX8 firmware and have loaded the OS file on a USB flash drive as downloaded from Yamaha for the MOFX 6-8 keyboard.
The file 8L26OS_.PGM is on the usb in place in the back of the keyboard.
From power off, following the directions from Yamaha, I hold down the [LEVEL] meter button and hit power on.
I see the REC button flashing and as the instruction direct I press the REC button... about 4 seconds pass and I then see a NO MEDIA response on the screen display..
I have tried multiple newly Formatted USB flash drives with the same result!
AM I doing something wrong?

wow love the views! no responses? Has no one effectively ever updated a MOFX8 firmware?

Perhaps you mean MOXF8.
Try saving a file to one of those drives. Make sure the MOXF can even see it. Make a test file SAVE, then LOAD that file back. If you can do that, then use that drive for the update.
