Global Stage: Jonathan Waldenfrid Trio

I was blown away by three things in the video:

  1. Jonathan Waldenfrid’s playing, which is grooving, soulful and dynamic. It makes sense that he’s been touring with Dirty Loops and several other world-renowned artists in the gospel scene.
  2. The popping groove generated by his trio featuring drummer Simon Liljeblad and bassist Tobias Grenholm. You can tell they’ve played a lot together.
  3. The sound of the YC Series H4 VCM organ and VCM rotary speaker. The warm low and low-mid range coupled with the wonderful grit and overdrive from the rotary speaker effect is sooo great.

Global Stage: Simon Oslender Trio

Simon Oslender is a jazz pianist, organist and keyboardist born in Aachen, Germany in 1998. He is a remarkably soulful player with a musical sensibility far beyond his years. Check out the wonderful Simon Oslender Trio featuring drummer Jérôme Cardynaals and bassist Claus Fisher live at the House or Musik in Berlin.
