Make your live easier with VST Live, the ultimate live performance system. A unique, stable software solution, it is designed for musicians who want to put on a great show, including sound, lights and video, wherever you are. VST Live comes with a vast array of virtual instruments, sync features for your music, text and chord symbol displaying on other devices, video, Cubase import, MIDI tracks for direct DMX light control and much more.

From practicing at home to rehearsing with your band; from solo shows in bars, clubs and at small parties to full band shows and big stage productions, the wide-ranging facilities of VST Live make it the right choice for everyone.

Looks interesting, I'm still trying to get my head around it.

Manual is here: https://download.steinberg.net/downloads_software/VST_Live/VST_Live_Operation_Manual_en.pdf

Should be included with the Montage and MODX from now on, IMO.
I do find bizarre that Yamaha is not mentioned at all, and that they themselves have no news release on this.

Doesn't support SysEx, yet, so not a complete solution for Montage/MODX.
But it's coming soon, according to their forums.

The press release came out today.

https://ocl-steinberg-live.steinberg.net/_storage/asset/163511/storage/master/Press%20Release%20-%202022-06-15%20-%20VST%20Live%20-%20EN.pdf

I also notice a crossgrade option from Camelot which was marketed with some amount of "partnering" with Yamaha. So that may be "sticky".

I think a full court press release by business units outside of Steinberg on the same day as Steinberg's announcement is a big ask. I'm sure there will be some tutorials using it with Yamaha gear coming.

Regardless, thanks for the heads up.

That looks like the terms of an aquire-hire deal involved releasing their software.

On the other end of the scale, this is revelatory - CLAP: an open source plugin/host API and system, complete with thread pooling, via Bitwig and u-he in the driver's seats:
