What specific cable do I use to connect the single MIDI/audio in/out to an iPad pro that has a C connector? In other words, is there a single cable form the cp88 to the C connector, and if so who makes it, or do I need an adapter, and if so is there a specific adapter capable of transmitting both the mid and audio at the same time? Thanks in advance.

The owner's manual points you to the Iphone/Ipad Connection Manual. It's a bit of a scavenger hunt since the CP88/73 pages do not have the manual included for download as other products do.

https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/6/725646/iphone_ipad_connect_en_om_j0.pdf

This may not be the latest - but the latest I could find (and does include USB-C)

The recommendation shows using either of the following:

USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter
USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter

Plus a standard USB 2.0 USB-A to USB-B cable (aka "printer cable" ).

I'm not altogether sure why the following isn't suggested: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1M2AM/A/usb-c-to-usb-adapter?afid=p238%7CseF44721a-dc_mtid_1870765e38482_pcrid_246386725857_pgrid_14874603490_&cid=aos-us-kwgo-pla-btb--slid---product-MJ1M2AM/A (and it is NOT).

And then some users have used something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Printer-USB-C-Black/dp/B00UUBRV9C/ref=asc_df_B00UUBRV9C/

... for other products (not sure about the CP series). Doing something like this would be a gamble - but you can probably find a cheap version of this cable. Cheap isn't always good when it comes to investing in interfaces for your professional musical equipment.

Connecting to your iPad Pro - follow the Apple guide to the “Connect to other devices” option.

See recommendation for “If the device has a USB-A connector...”

Thank you Jason and Bad Mister. Fantastic advice and exactly what I wanted to know. I did look at the Iphone/Ipad Connection Manual and it was not clear about the issue IMO. I thought that since audio and MIDI were flowing through the same cable at the same time there might be another adapter required than what was discussed to handle this flow. I also thought that there may be a single cable with the correct connectors on both ends that would work But I couldn't find either answer. Until now. Thanks again for taking the time.
