I'm new to this forum and glad to be here. I'm ready to purchase a CP4. I was reading the manual and noticed it said that the CP4 "MAY have a battery" that lasts about 5 years. Has anyone had to replace a battery?

Not yet. The same claim was made for the DX7... It typically lasts ten ot more years... There were reports of the battery lasting many more years... The CP4 Stage (2013) has not been around for five years yet. The battery is responsible for backing up user settings (which can be backed up to a USB drive) - after five years it is not a bad idea to have any electronic product serviced - even if just for a thorough electronic cleaning.
