When I record a pattern I hear the drum playing live perfect...when I hit stop and move on to layer another sound,
I hear the drums twice...like the loop in playing and the recorded part at the same time..what Am i doing wrong?

If you recorded a Drum Pattern, then it should playback fine from the data documented in the Track.
When you are ready to add another sound to this Performance you should deactivate the KBD CTRL icon on the Drum Part. And activate it on the Part you are getting ready to add.
KBD CTRL literally means the Part that is / or the Parts that are currently under control of the keyboard.
The Drum Pattern is already MIDI data on a Track, you don’t want to control it with the keyboard any more.
