Hi, I have a new modx8 and a Yamaha FC7 Volume pedal. i'm a bit lost as to how to use the foot pedal to operate the super knob so that when the volume pedal is down, the super knob is down, and when the volume up on the super knob increases.
For example, I would like to have a piano sound, then step on the volume pedal to fade in strings.
Yamahas manual can be a bit tough to interpret in this area.
Thanks for any help!
Best for a safe and happy New Year,
John

By default the SuperKnob control is assigned to Foot Controller 2 jack at the back, but you can set i to FC1 as well.

It's a per Performance setting, not global.

You can change it from Performance Home > Common/Audio > Control > Control Number. "Foot Ctrl 2" should be already set to SuperKnob.

When you move your FC7 - do you see the superknob move? Is this where you're stuck - or is this working and you need to find a Preset (and/or create your own Performance) that morphs between strings and piano?

"All" Preset Performances are programmed so the FC7 will control the superknob by default. You just need to plug in the FC7 to the right port. There are two that accept expression pedals. If the FC7 isn't moving the superknob, then plug in the FC7 into the other port.

One port by default will change the volume (Foot Controller 1) and the other port will by default move superknob (Foot Controller 2).

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

The pedal does operate the super knob. I'm having difficult understanding how, in a performance I've created, part 1 piano and part 2 strings, assigning the super knob to fade IN and OUT the strings on top of the piano. I have the Piano set at part 1 and the strings set at part 2. I really do appreciate all your help out there. I'm a bit confused when I try to learn from the manual.

This tutorial shows how:
https://yamahasynth.com/learn/super-knob-morph-mastering-modx

But should really read the whole series (or at least the chapters dealing with the SuperKnob programming):
