Is there any way to get both send and receive working with MIDI on the USB To Device output? It seems form my experiments to be a one way thing.
I was actually hoping for a full mirror complete with audio too, so I could plug in my iPad to that directly with a USB to lightning cable, then the montage into the computer and do a little daisy chain. Using the Montage/iPad as a sort of aggregate device of awesomeness.

No, it's one way only. There is a section in the new features PDF inside the firmware ZIP file that details this and other facts about the USB to Device port for using attached MIDI devices.

That's odd in the file I downloaded I only had an updated patch list pdf in multiple languages and two readme.txt files which simply covered installation/rights.
Anyhow, what a shame, still it's a start, at least you can now daisy chain one additional keyboard via USB, but I wish it had Send as well as receive, please Yamaha add this!

I my downloads there is an additional manual for sure. The English version is called montage_en_nf_g0.pdf.
