Hello - this has to be glaryingly obvious, but I've asked this question on Google and the search box on this Forum with no answers given. The Connect manual doesn't tell this either. I plan to put a new Pf on Connect, when it will automatically appear on my dedicated computer folder as an X7B file (correct?) - then zip it and attach it to a Post to here. To my chagrin, I've either forgotten or never knew how to get the new Pf onto Connect! I hope I haven't dreamed the whole thing! Sorry it's so basic yet again ...

Set Montage to MIDI I/O = USB
Connect the Montage to your computer via a USB cable
On your computer create a folder for your Montage programs.

Launch Montage Connect
If the program does not come ONLINE:
Click "Setup" > select "Montage" - your instrument's firmware version will appear

Click the RECALL panel
To capture the current Montage Performance click on the graphic that show the keyboard sending data to the computer.
In a few seconds... the Name and Date and Time will appear with an asterisk (denoting you have not yet SAVED this bulk to your computer.
Click the SAVE panel. A view of your computer file structure will appear.
Navigate to your Montage folder (if you are consistent, Montage will always return to this folder)
Type the FILE NAME you want to save this under...
If you wish to replace an existing file, simply highlight it.. the file Location (path) is shown
Click the green box SAVE.

You have now captured your Montage Performance and placed it in a folder on your computer.

Hello BM - many thanks! I had continued experimenting, and had rediscovered how to get the new Pf onto 'Connect' (had logged in to report that, and found your very prompt answer!). But the only way 'Connect' will save it to the dedicated folder on my computer is by over-writing an existing file in that folder, and when I do that it changes the name of the new Pf to that of the over-written file. I can then change that, but I don't see any way of typing a new Pf name into the folder beforehand. I don't understand why it doesn't simply ADD the new Pf to the others?

And that's because you are not looking closely at the screen.
Your opportunity to NAME it occurs when the top line reads FILE NAME with a blank space to type in the name.

The program does not simply ADD the new Performance because it gives you an opportunity to rename it. You don't currently see a reason for that - but it gives you an opportunity to type the File name with your QWERTY, anyway. In the future as you create more Performances you'll find, perhaps, a reason. Particularly when you are making variations on a particular Performance or you've started with a multi setup but have made a change to, say, the drum kit used... you want to use this Variation for a new Song.

If you don't want to replace a file leave the highlight on your FOLDER's name... (now the file will be placed in the folder).

Bless your heart, BM - I was looking on the computer folder, not the 'Connect' screen. The 'File Name' box contained the name of a previously selected Pf, which I clicked (turned blue) and over-wrote with the name of my new Pf. Then 'Save' and it was indeed added to the others already in the folder. I will now experiment with zipping it, and attempt an upload to this site with a simple 2 piano mix for starters, Both from Montage Pre-sets, so hopefully within the rules. Thanks again!
