Hi all.
I am using Cubase 10.5 Pro with my Yamaha Montage. So far it has been a match made in heaven for me. I just love how well the two products integrate together.
Anyway, I am working on a song using the Yamaha MONTAGE multi-channel recording template.
I have recorded the midi data across a number of midi tracks based on the "Latest FM Trend MW " performance.
Is it possible to change the scenes for the performance from within Cubase at certain locations? Let's say I start with Scene 1, then at a certain location in the song, I want to change to Scene 3, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Yes! This comes in handy when you are playing with both hands and barely have enough time to change the Scene buttons.
I use Pro Tools, but I imagine that Cubase would be quite similar.
I think you just need to record it on the MIDI 1 Track for the MIDI CC 92 parameter.
It probably needs to be in merge mode (or whatever Cubase calls it) so that you don't overwrite anything already recorded in MIDI Track 1. It's possible you may just be able to record pressing the Scene buttons at the points where you want them to auto-change and it will record that for you. You should be able to edit the CC 92 Scene changes on the MIDI 1 Track in Cubase at any time.
You can also use an automation track and "draw" in the scene changes rather than recording. I think there are lots of ways to do this since CC messages are fairly well supported from many different "tools" within Cubase.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
This is the same for MODX and Montage.

Thanks, Darryl, Jason and Bill. Appreciate your help and guidance. Will give it a go. Cheers

Brilliant. Automation works like a charm. Thanks again to all for the help.

I tend to often do a rough recording of the changes that I want to capture on MIDI 1 Track, then later edit or draw them to the exact point & shape that I want the automation to be, such as with pitch bends, velocities, aftertouch, mod wheel, Scene changes, etc.
