Hello Tainer - what does this 'path base editor' actually do?

Apologies - that should have read 'Rainer' and 'patch base editor' ... bit early in the morning ...

Click on the link to get more information.

1st link brings you to a page with some information:

We're always working on adding more editors for more synths to Patch Base. And, we get a lot of email asking about specific synths. So, we made this page to help us keep track of which synths are the ones people want support for the most!

To let us know which editors you'd like us to make, please use the form below. We'll keep track of your votes, and you'll be added to the Coffeeshopped Newsletter, to keep you updated when new editors come out. The newsletter gets sent about once a month or two.

That page has a link on it to "Patch Base" (their website) - which describes Patch Base as:

Create sounds for synthesizers from Korg, Roland, Yamaha, Casio, Oberheim, Ensoniq, and more. Patch Base is a collection of the best patch editors available for iPad. Real-time editing of synth parameters. Random patch generation. Sound library organization, with iCloud integration.

... and then there's a note about having to pay for most functionality:

Patch Base is available as a free download, allowing limited use of all synthesizers that the app supports. Full support for each synthesizer is available via In-App Purchase.

Here's what it says it does for some random synth it supports:

Patch Editor

Edit all voice parameters using intuitive touch-based controls
Changes are sent in real-time to your synth
Create random patches as starting points for new sounds
Create from an init patch as a blank canvas

Patch Librarian

Save patches you create on your iPad
Organize them into folders
Turn on iCloud for automatic backup and desktop syncing with iCloud Drive
Import sysex patch files via iCloud or other apps on your iPad

... when I look at the list of supported synths - I don't necessarily see synths that have a "big screen" interface. Like the Korg Kronos doesn't have an editor. I presume this is because the on-board editor is good enough. I would think the Montage would fit into this same category -- but Rainer (and others) may benefit from some different editor/interface for other reasons.

This is an apple-only solution if that makes any difference to your "vote".

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

Hello Jason - can't see it doing any more than I can already do, so no point. I don't have Apple stuff anyway ... thanks for putting me in the picture. Tyros had a computer editor, totally useless as it was crammed into the top left corner and couldn't be expanded, which was all I wanted it for ... with Montage I have a nice huge external monitor ...
