Drum Maps?

I've been working on a drum track lately. I started doing it in Cubase using the built-in Groove Agent SE4. Yesterday I decided to see how the drum sounds from my XF would compare to the ones from GA SE4. So I copied the MIDI drum track and set its output to the XF VST instead.

One of the Cubase features I used originally was Create Drum Map from Instrument, to retrieve a drum map from the VST instrument. Since the drum maps for the XF are different, I figured I would use the same Cubase feature to retrieve the XF drum map. But no matter what I tried, that particular command was grayed out, so I couldn't use it.

Hunting around on the Internet trying to figure out what was wrong, I ran into this thread on motifator.com. Apparently, the drum maps for the XF drum kits are available only in the Data List document. Luckily for me, someone else had gone to the trouble of typing all of that in so that all I had to do was load the drum map I wanted into my XF drum track.

Is it really the case that the XF VST cannot provide what's needed by Create Drum Map from Instrument? This strikes me as a very strange omission in its capabilities. I'm kind of hoping that by asking this question, someone will be able to point out to me that the XF VST actually has this capability and tell me how to make it work.

Thanks…

The Kits of the Motif XF follow the GM MAP so you can simply use that to translate your setup.
